Shell Lubricant Solutions (Shell) has announced the Shell Gadus S3 V220C 2 grease is now certified against the NLGI High-Performance Multiuse (HPM) certification, in addition to its previously held NLGI GC–LB performance classification, making it the first dual-certified grease currently available in the world. Shell Gadus S3 V220C 2 grease has also obtained the +HL tag for enhanced level of performance in the heavy load carrying capacity category.

(NASDAQ: CSWI) and Pennzoil-Quaker State Company dba SOPUS products (“Shell”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell Oil Company that comprises Shell’s United States (“U.S.”) lubricants business, announced today the execution of a definitive agreement under which Whitmore Manufacturing, LLC (“Whitmore”), a wholly owned subsidiary of CSWI, and Shell will form a joint venture (“JV”) to market, distribute, and sell lubricants, greases, coolants, reliability products, and related industrial services to the North America rail and U.S. mining sectors. The JV, which will be named Shell & Whitmore Reliability Solutions, LLC, is expected to be owned fifty percent by each of Whitmore and Shell.

Shell uses solar energy to help power lubricant plants in Europe and Asia

Shell is installing solar photovoltaic panels on the roofs of seven lubricant plants in China, India, Italy, Singapore and Switzerland. Combined, the panels are expected to generate over 7,500 MWh of electricity annually, and can result in the avoidance of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of approximately 4,500 tonnes on a CO2-equivalent basis per year, equivalent to taking about 2,600 cars off the road for one year.

Singapore, November 1, 2017 – Shell today opened an integrated lubricants and grease production facility in Tuas, Singapore. At 10 hectares, the site size is equivalent to almost 25 football pitches. It is Shell’s 3nd largest lubricants plant in the world and 2nd largest in Asia-Pacific, capable of producing up to 430 million litres (equivalent to 390 kilotonnes) of lubricants and greases every year - enough to change the engine oil of over 12,000 cars, every hour, every day.
